Latika works with individuals, couples and families to achieve psychological balance.
Latika offers both clinical and forensic psychology services. Clinical psychology services refer to the assessment and subsequent treatment (therapy) of psychologically-based distress or dysfunction. Forensic psychology services refer to assessing clients within the criminal justice system and writing legal reports to provide a psychological formulation for courts.
Clinical psychology services
Latika offers assessment and treatment for the following areas:

personal development, including assertiveness training and self-esteem improvement
Forensic psychology services
Forensic assessments are conducted to assist court proceedings. A forensic report details the clients’ background information, results of empirical tool(s), the psychologist’s opinion on the legal issues and recommendations for future considerations.
Latika can offer assessment and report writing services for medico-legal reports, sexual offending risk assessments and violence risk assessments.
Confidentiality
As part of providing a psychological service to you, Latika will need to collect and record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation. This information is necessary to the psychological assessment and treatment. The retained information enables Latika to provide a relevant and informed psychological service. Should you have been referred from a General Practitioner (GP), Latika will provide your GP with a brief summary of treatment at the end of the sixth, twelfth or eighteenth session. Please approach Latika if you are concerned about confidentiality of details of your assessment and/or treatment.
All personal information gathered by Latika during the provision of the psychological service will remain confidential and secure except where:
- It is subpoenaed by a court, or - Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at serious and imminent risk, or - Your prior approval has been obtained to
a) provide a written report to another professional or agency (eg. a GP or a lawyer); or b) discuss the material with another person, eg. a parent or employer, or
- Disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.
